Greg Bear has produced a large number of titles in science fiction and fantasy. Some of his better known works in science fiction are Darwin's Radio, The Forge of God, and Eon. A fantasy series of his that I personally enjoyed was Songs of Earth and Power (The Infinity Concerto and The Serpent Mage), which delves into exactly what happened to the Elves when they disappeared from the British Isles.

Please use the comments feature below to add your thoughts as to which works of Bear's you would recommend to a newcomer to speculative fiction. Please include reasons why you find the works and/or the author's writing more generally appealing.
