Astronomers have found an exoplanet surviving in orbit around a binary star system and outside a previously-theorized safe zone. It was formerly thought that a planet in the orbit this one occupies would be destroyed by tidal forces, but this one appears to survive because its orbit is retrograde. For more, read Gizmodo's article and the source article at The Astrophysical Journal:Letters. Maybe those gorgeous shots of sunsets on Tatooine could be experienced in the real world, after all?
